I’ll see you next comic.
I’ll see you next comic.
Well, the new maybe temporary format is here. And let me tell you, it is way less time consuming than the other one (Though, the fact that I decided to ditch doing backgrounds for the time being is certainly helping that along). Considering, art-wise, I’m trying to half ass everything to make this sequence not drag on, I feel this is going to turn out pretty decently all things considered.
Anyways, in case you didn’t notice in the title, comic 54 is actually going to be composed of multiple pages of comics, which this is the first of (I mean, obviously…). So, how me updating this is going to work, is that I’m going to try to get 2 entire pages done each week, though I might manage to pump more out than that. Once I get a page drawn, I’m going to try to have it posted within a day of me finishing it. With any luck, you can expect 2 updates most of the time each week until comic 54 is done, with the occasional 3 week update that might pop up every now and then. Here’s to hoping this doesn’t turn into a completely arduous task 2 weeks in!
Anyways, I’m probably not going to be saying much else with these updates, so you probably won’t be hearing much from me, post-wise, until this is done. So until then, I’ll see you next comic… is pretty much going to be the only words I’m sticking in these posts…
Who can believe that it’s already been a whole year since I started this comic? Well, I can, because it certainly has felt like a year with how slow the comic has been going recently. Hopefully the format change I’m planning will help to pick up the pace and make the comic feel like it’s going at a faster pace. At any rate, here’s were one would normally get all introspective with their work, and think about all that has come to pass in the past year this comic has just been coasting along… I would be doing that, were it not for the fact that I kind of already did that with the New Years post I did 2 months ago, and my thoughts still haven’t really changed since then: though I wish this comic was getting more attention, I’m still glad I finally decided to work to start uploading it to a place where anybody can see it.
Anyways, enjoy this picture of Alex and Kitsiyuna celebrating their 1 year online (I feel I need to add a big woo in celebration somewhere in this post, so I’ll just add it here: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!), and in the meantime, I’ll see you next comic… With a different layout this time, no less!
It’s finally happening people. The fight between Alex and Alexis is actual going to get started now after I meandered around on the story for about a month…
Anyways, I do have news. I will be changing the comic’s format, making it so that the panels are no longer uniform in size and set up, so I can make them as big as they need to be, at least for the fight coming up, because I’m thinking that will help things go faster. Basically, my current update rate is making this story arc DRAG ON AND ON, and I just want to finally get it closer to its conclusion. So, I’m planning on updating more than once a week. There’s going to be a caveat to this though: I’m probably going to intentionally let the comic’s art quality drop down a bit to facilitate me getting these comics done. I’m still going to be drawing in the same style, it’s just that I don’t plan on doing any clean up work or additional shading once I get the comic scanned in onto the computer. Essentially, I plan on uploading the comics when they’re done, and they’re going to be done whenever they’re going to be done, as I no longer have a set schedule for doing this. Just something for you guys to keep in mind. And, if after all that, the comic doesn’t really suffer too badly from the format change, I might just keep the new format. We’ll have to wait and see.
Now that that’s out of the way, the comic’s anniversary drawing is coming up on Saturday, so you can look forward to that I suppose. And with that, I’ll see you next post.
Here’s a transcript for the conversation that’s going on in the background, because I made it JUST A TAD TOO DIFFICULT TO READ:
Alexis – “Hey Kaz. It’s certainly been a while since I last saw you.”
Kaz – “Well, Alex has been keeping me pretty busy lately with all sorts of stupid crap recently… I think it’s mostly him trying to make me “friends” with JUST him, and not the both of you…”
Alex – “How many times do I have to tell you Kaz: Don’t talk to Stalker freely on your own time, otherwise you’re going to catch her skank stank!”
Kaz – “Uh huh… When will you just admit Alex that you don’t want me around Alexis, because you want me to be one of the few things you have that she doesn’t?”
Alex – “Because that sounds really f***ing gay…”
So, the idea of pacts and soul-links has been something that has been intended for the comic since the very beginning… It’s just… I never really found a good chance to explain the concept before now… So if you think the idea is stupid… It’s just going to keep popping up in the future, so you might as well get used to it.
Anyways, the anniversary is next week and I’ve got the drawing I’ve planned for it done, so you guys can look forward to that I guess. Anything I would want to announce, I’ll just save for next week, so, until then, I’ll see you next comic.
Just to give you a frame of reference for how time is moving in the comic in regards to real life: Gervani was arrested in comic 24, which was over 4 months ago in real time, yet in the comic, only occurred a little over a week ago. Yes. The story is going THAT SLOW right now. Don’t worry though. I do plan on picking up the pace soon. Special emphasis on the word “plan”…
Anyways, see you guys next comic.
