Comic Post #066: Print Is Dead

Go to Comic Archive

Schedule changes should be effective starting next week, so you can expect sporadic updates again like with Alex and Alexis’s duel. Also, I turn 23 next week, so that should be exciting in absolutely no way what’s so ever. It’s so exciting that I almost forgot that my birthday was next week until I actually got a look at the calendar. It’s kind of depressing that I’ve gotten to the point in my life where my birthday is just another day for me… Oh well. We all get there eventually I guess…

One thing that I did ask for my birthday was some speech-to-text software I could use on my computer. My thinking with this is that it could increase my proficiency when it comes to my writing, as that way, I don’t end up tripping up over dialogue that I’m trying to type up in my head, and instead, I can just say what I’m thinking which I feel would go so much faster. I feel it would actually make typing up stuff within the actual blog posts a lot more natural to me at the very least.

Anyways, that’s all of the important stuff I’ve got to say this week, so until then, I’ll see you next comic.

Comic Post #065: How Not To Market Yourself

Those poor, poor tacos…

Anyways, after next week’s update, I’m going to be going to be switching up my update schedule again, because… there’s going to be another fight sequence coming up! Wooooooo… So basically, you can probably expect a slight decline in quality (because this comic is SO high quality in the first place) in order to facilitate me pumping out more comics so that the fight doesn’t drag on forever. Hopefully this one is going to flow a lot more quickly than the last one. Though, I have a general idea of how the whole thing is going to go down, I don’t have the individual scripts typed up yet, so whether or not that’s true, we’ll have to wait and see…

But, that’s all the news I have for the moment, so until then, I’ll see you next comic.

Art Post – Who Wants Popcorn?

So, I’ve ended up changing up how I’ve been spending my free time lately. Instead of just playing video games in my spare time, I’ve decided to do some extra drawing instead. Unfortunately, none of that extra drawing has been going towards drawing comics for future updates so I can build up a buffer. Hey, what can I say? I’m just bad at time management. Anyways, I finally got around to doing a drawing of characters that I don’t actually have to introduce to you people. So, enough rambling now, here’s what I’ve got:

Eating Popcorn

As you can probably see, I’ve been manning up a little bit lately and have actually gone back and cleaned up the line work of the drawing once I scanned it in, then I actually attempted to do some basic shading. I’ve been doing that for a lot of the drawings I’ve been doing recently, and I feel that they’ve all been coming out pretty decently. Now, with that being said, don’t expect me to be doing stuff like this with the comic anytime soon. Drawing the comics take me long enough as it is (I usually have to take a break for the day halfway through a strip just so that I don’t get bored of drawing it). I don’t need to start doubling that time to finish one. The comic is nowhere popular enough to warrant that kind of effort on a weekly basis after all.

Anyways, on to the actual drawing itself. As I said, I’ve been doing a lot of these drawings recently, and most of them had been of characters from my ideas for other comics not called Night Fox. If I posted one of those drawings, I would’ve felt obligated to go on a long diatribe about that particular character’s backstory, in addition to their role in their story overall. And I’m bad at typing up stuff like that, which is why I post character bios so infrequently. I felt like the recent work I’ve been doing was a visible improvement over what I’ve been doing recently, and I really wanted to post SOMETHING to the blog… So, I decided to just do a picture for Alex and Kitsiyuna. As most of the stuff I’ve been doing recently is just characters doing standing poses, I wanted to change things up a little bit, and have the two of them sitting together doing something. Eventually, I decided to just have them watching TV while eating popcorn, because why not. Basically, there was no particular occasion for this picture. It was just something I felt like doing. Though, if I wanted to, I could say this is to celebrate the fact that I’ve gotten over 100 likes on this blog at this point, even if that technically happened a couple of weeks ago already…

That all being said, thanks for you all helping me get over 100 likes (plus the 20 follows as of this post)! That’s the kind of stuff that keeps me motivated to do this after all! Speaking of which, this week’s comic should be going up on time on Thursday, so that’s something else you guys can check back in for. So until then, I’ll see you guys next post!

Comic Post #064: A Risque Unveiling

Go to Comic Archive

You know how last week, I was making a big deal about how I might not be able to get this week’s comic done in time and that I might have to delay it to next week? Well, apparently I’m just a f***ing idiot who doesn’t know crap about how much free time I actually have… So here’s this week’s comic, on time, despite being slightly longer than normal…

Anyways, I decided it was about time that I explicitly stated in comic that Kitsiyuna has practically no memories from before she formed her Pact with Alex. I know I kind of went over that in her character bio, but it wouldn’t surprise me if most of you hadn’t read that. That being said, I never mentioned why she has amnesia in the first place. Now you know the reason why: because a shady cabal-like group captured her at some point in the past and forcibly extracted her memories alongside her powers in order to further their own mysterious agenda. What is their agenda? Well, you’re going to have to just wait and see… For a while probably, as I have no plans for a story arc currently that directly involves Wraith Cell right now (Though I have no problem putting up a bio for its leader sometime in the near future so that I can give more information about the group). Rest assured though, if I ever do get around to making a story arc that involves them, you know that that’s when s**t is going to go down…

And with all of that out of the way, I’ll see you guys next comic.

Comic Post #063: Beating The Wait

The next update might not be ready by next week. You see, its going to delve a little bit into Kitsiyuna’s backstory, and said backstory involves designs for some characters which I haven’t actually finalized. So, I might take a few extra days to actually figure out their designs and not just draw the first thing that pops into my head and have them end up with a crappy design. So, delays might be possible, but don’t at all be surprised if in spite of all that I get the comic done in time. I do have a really bad habit of underestimating the amount of time I have to draw these comics after all… Anyways, life is the same as always for me, so I’ll just see you next comic.
