Night Fox – Comic Post #114: Cram It In A Jar, Or Something…

My brain is completely shot as of the moment I’m writing this post, so this is probably going to be quick… PROBABLY…

The next segment with Angel I have planned I actually haven’t finished writing yet, but given the fact that it’s not going up until the new year, I’m thinking that’s probably acceptable at the moment. I have about a page done for it already, so it’s not like I haven’t started working on it yet… I just know I have a really bad habit when it comes to procrastinating writing comics…

Also, the Christmas season is upon us, and I couldn’t give less of a crap at this moment… My family is insistent on actually buying something for me this year, and I for the life of me, cannot think of a single thing to ask for that I wouldn’t just rather buy for myself, except maybe some new pants…. Because I kinda need new pants and I don’t feel like going out and buying some, but that’s about it…

I have thought about maybe asking for a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, because I hear game journalists can’t stop complaining about the “gratuitous fanservice” in the game that I know for a fact they’re blowing outta proportion and acting like ISN’T going to be a massive selling point for weebs like me (because as you all can probably guess at this point, I have no problem with big anime boobies)…. I know for a fact that this isn’t the first time they’ve bitched about something like this before, and it’s not going to be the last, so I’ve considered getting it just to spite them and show them that “yes this kind of s**t sells”. Aside from that, I do know that it’s actually a decent game based on what everyone else is saying about it. I just have to decide whether or not I have the patient for another really long JRPG at the moment. If anyone actually reads these posts, and knows if the game is worth getting, let me know…

Then finally, in the spirit of Christmas, of which I just said I give zero craps about, I decided to do a Christmas themed drawing because why not just contradict myself? It’s actually already finished, but I’m gonna hold of on showing it until a little bit closer to the 25th because reasons… And I guess those reasons are that I don’t want to seem too tacky posting it early…? Sure, let’s go with that…

Okay, so that wasn’t as short as I thought it was going to be… But it’s not like I’ve never wrote MORE CRAP than I initially intended before… Anywho, I’m done for now, so I’ll just see you next comic.

“Baking some clams” is a euphemism I feel you don’t hear too much these days.

Anyways, my internet for the most part has actually been holding out the past week, which I say is a good sign. Just goes to show, if you keep bitching at your ISP literally almost every single day over the course of like 3 weeks to come send people over to your house who ACTUALLY know what they’re doing to fix your internet… They’ll EVENTUALLY actually do it. Would’ve been nice if the first like, 8 techs Cox sent to our house actually knew what they were doing, but oh well, that’s not the universe I apparently live in.

Aside from that, not much else to say this week. Still debating over whether or not I actually want to get on Twitter or not, but that’s pretty much all at this point. That all being said, I’ll see you next comic.

…Finally back to doing the one off updates again… It only took like, what? 3 f***ing months…?

Anywho, things have definitely been happening since my last update. Firstly, my internet is still being a roaring dumpster fire with it often cutting out at the times of day I like to actually use it. So that’s always fun to deal with… (And by fun, I mean I despise Cox and everything they stand for as an ISP)

…I suppose having 2 more people move back in the house who use the internet just as much as I do hasn’t been helping. Yep, my brother and his husband (yes, my brother is what I have had Alex refer to in the past as “somekind of a gay”. I didn’t really mention it in earlier posts because I didn’t really know if it was my place or not to tell random strangers about, but f**k it! He’s been married for something like 2 and a half years at this point and has been pretty open about it already, so I can safely assume neither of them are really keeping it a secret from strangers at this point)… those two have moved back in with me and my mom due to financial reasons (Because we’re all f***ing broke! You know, thinking about it…. maybe THAT’S the thing I shouldn’t be blurting out to strangers on the internet, but oh well…). Thankfully, I actually get along with my brother and my brother-in-law, so it’s not all bad for me. I just wish the internet didn’t start tanking as soon as they moved in… (To be fair to them, it did actually start acting up about 2 days before they moved in, but hey, I often like to subscribe to paranoid conspiracy theories, so: THE GAYS ARE SIPHONING OFF MY INTERNET! HIDE YOUR FROGS, OR THEY MIGHT TURN GAY TOO!)

In slightly less important news, I managed to destroy my office chair simply by sitting in it over the course of 4 years. The metal brace that attached the support column and wheels to the actual chair managed to actually WARP enough to the point that there’s an actual cut in the metal now, which has caused the chair to permanently tilt to the back-right. This has taught me a very valuable lesson: I need to stop leaning back in my chair all of the f***ing time… Up until the point it started to perma-tilt, I was having back problems from using that chair. I now understand why: no actual back support. So let this be a lesson to you kids: don’t constantly lean back in your chair, because you apparently will destroy it eventually. (I guess slouching to try to get a good angle to draw my comic wasn’t such a good idea…)

And finally, in actually possibly pertinent news: I’ve been thinking about going on to Twitter to possibly use as another platform to promote the comic because I figured, more people check their Twitter than they check their WordPress… I haven’t actually made the account yet, but if I do, there’ll definitely be links on the blog to it if any of you were actually interested in following me. (If I actually do decide to get on it that is. With the internet at my house being as bad as it is has certainly made me question whether or not that is such a good idea at the time… Well, that and the fact that I know Twitter isn’t the best place for people to just meme it up and s**tpost, which is something I would totally do on Twitter…)

Anyways, I’m done rambling on. So until then, I’ll see you next comic.

Well Relnia didn’t last long… I wouldn’t have even added her to the comic were it not for the fact that I really wanted to incorporate the phrase “work the shaft” in while someone was being impaled through the mouth with a spear, and I was already super set on how Judith was going to be killing Char and Greever. Also, I resisted the urge to be super edgy and call Judith’s memory siphoning spell Mind Rape even though that’s like literally what’s she is doing to Char… You know, because until this point, NOTHING in this comic was edgy or try hard AT ALL… Especially the telepathic head explosion that just happened on the proceeding page. Absolutely nothing edgy about that… 😛

Anywho, another multi-pager starting next week. This time, we’re going to be taking a look at what Angel has been doing on her assignment. You know, because people cared about that, and this comic in general… Like I said earlier, it’s not going to be too long of a comic, so we should be able to keep the story moving quicker. And FYI, more expositional comics in the coming weeks, so get ready for S**T TONS OF TALKING! Because that TOTALLY makes for a good comic series…

Anyways, I’m done spouting words, so I’ll just see you next comic.

Given the nature of the last 3 pages of the comic, I decided to get them all done ahead of schedule and post them all in one update next week. Spoiler Alert: Judith is going to clean house. And then after that update, it’s going to be another multi-paged comic. I originally wasn’t going to have a multi-pager one after another, but given the fact that that side project I was doing had plot details that were relevant to the main comic, and I just sort of, GAVE UP on the side project… I’m moving that stuff to the main comic and trying to condense the more important story beats to make it quicker to go through in the comic. It definitely is going to be the shortest multi-pager so far, so it shouldn’t take more than 4 updates to finish up, and I’m going to try to have multiple pages ready per update, so hopefully it should be done even faster than that. And with that quick little update out of the way, I’ll see you next comic.
